The Soap Lab is a Go!

The Soap Lab is a Go!

One of my biggest ideas for Central Soapers Workshop 2013 is officially a go!!!

I dreamed, from day one, that it would be so incredibly cool to not only meet and network with other soapmakers but also, to get the chance to soap it up with them. Then and there, the idea for the Soap Lab was born: a place at CSW where our soapy friends could get together over a batch of suds – perfecto!

Let’s make this happen….

MMS The Sage Soapers ChoiceThanks to Majestic Mountain Sage (otherwise known as The Sage!) and Columbus Foods (otherwise known as Soaper’s Choice!), the Soap Lab is not just a dream, it’s going to be a reality!

Mike over at Soaper’s Choice has agreed to supply us with all the soapmaking oils we need for each participant to create a 1 lb batch of the holy trinity, while Andee from The Sage is sending Tina down to supply us with EVERYTHING else!

Tina will also be hanging out in the Soap Lab so you can chat her up, plus she’ll be doing a talk on alternative liquids in soapmaking on Sunday!

Can anyone else say, SCORE?!

So how will this go down?

The conference center that CSW 2013 is scheduled at is going to split down the middle with a sound barrier wall. On one side, you will find the Workshop where various speakers will share, teach, and talk about all of our favorite topics. On the other side, you will find the table for registration, any vendor information or spaces booked, the Soaper’s Suds Off and Swap, and the Soap Lab.

Every hour, you will have the option to attend the Workshop or hit up the Soap Lab – giving you the ability to catch a demo of hanger swirling, thermal transfer soaping, faux funnel swirling, and more, OR hit up the Workshop to learn valuable skills in business or experience being immersed in extensive soapmaking topics like rebatching, natural colorants, and more. Each demonstration in the Soap Lab is scheduled not once, but twice, so you can be sure to catch the ones you want to see!

  1. Thank you all so much for putting this together. I have only been soaping for about a year and have never attended a conference or event. I am so glad I have my registration paid and will be attending. I’m investing in ME! I am also looking forward to networking and meeting new friends.
Again, thank you all for all the hard work!

    • Thank you, Anne, for registering and help making it become a reality! This has been so much fun to plan (and lots of hard work!) I can’t thank everyone involved enough – speakers, demonstrators, sponsors, volunteers, and registrants! Can’t wait to see you in March!
